The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), referred to in Canada as CUSMA, replaces the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Upon implementation of CUSMA, all NAFTA certifications expire. We would like to ensure “duty free†benefits continue without interruption. Therefore, in order to facilitate a smooth transition between the Agreements, we have prepared an CUSMA/USMCA information package which details:.

The new trade agreement between Canada, the United States and Mexico has been ratified and will be implemented as July 1, 2020.
RETALITORY MEASURES

These surtaxes will only apply on goods originating from the U.S., where the origin is determined as per the terms of the CUSMA, and will take effect by September 21, 2020. The surtaxes will not apply to U.S. goods that are in transit to Canada on the day on which the surtaxes come into force.
